The Governing body is made up of staff, parents, members of the Local Authority and members of the local community. Governors play a vital role in the leadership and management of the school, providing support and challenge to ensure that the school is the very best that it can be. They set the strategic direction of the school by working with the leadership team to, amongst other responsibilities, agree policies, set and review targets, review budgets and staffing, ensure parents and pupils are involved, consulted and informed as appropriate, and make information available to the community.
At Studlands Rise the governors take a keen interest in the school and regularly visit to make sure that they understand how the school runs on a day-to-day basis by taking part in learning walks with the leadership team, conducting some staff and pupil voice, taking part in class trips, supporting whole school events, to name just a few.
The Full Governing Body meets termly. The Curriculum committee and Finance, Premises and Personnel committee also hold joint meetings on a termly basis.
Please direct any correspondence that you have for school governors to the school office.

Governor Profile
Member of Curriculum and Finance, Premises and Personnel Committee
I have been a teacher at Studlands Rise for a number of years and I have had the pleasure of teaching across the key stages. During my time at the school I have led a range of subjects, been a mentor and am now INCO and Deputy Headteacher. I am currently class based 2 days a week and spend the rest of my week fulfilling my other leadership responsibilities. My role gives me the privileged position of working with a range of colleagues, professionals and parents as well as enjoying the company of pupils throughout the school. No day is the same and it is this that makes working within a school and teaching such an exciting profession to be part of.
